Carbon Auction · VCS 2925 · Verra · Hosted on EOM
700,000 Ecozen cookstoves distributed free to rural Cambodian households — reducing firewood use, cutting indoor air pollution and protecting forests. Now 100,000 tCO₂e of Vintage 2024 credits are coming to auction on the Emstream venue.
About the project
In Cambodia, more than 75% of rural households lack access to clean cooking — relying on traditional three-stone fires that the World Bank identifies as the country's leading health risk. This project distributed 700,000 Ecozen improved cookstoves free of cost to targeted households across the country.
The stoves cut firewood consumption significantly, improve indoor air quality and save over an hour of daily cooking time per household — easing pressure on Cambodia's forests and freeing women in particular to take up other productive activities.

How the auction runs
This is the second in a series of scheduled CORSIA auctions by Emstream. OTC bidders must register their request to bid before the 14 July deadline.

Beyond carbon
Real-world benefits on the ground, and the host-country credentials that underpin the quality and market acceptance of these credits.
A significant reduction in household air pollution, lowering the risk of respiratory and cardiovascular disease — the leading health burden in rural Cambodia.
Women, as primary cooks, save over an hour each day — enabling them to take up employment and other productive activities.
Each stove reduces woody-biomass removal by an estimated 3.42 tonnes per year, easing deforestation pressure across the country.
30–50 jobs created in assembly, distribution and maintenance, with around 200 individuals trained through the project's women's programme.
The Ecozen improved cookstove (VM0050, Tool-33 v2) reduces heat loss and improves combustion efficiency compared with traditional three-stone fires — delivering faster cooking, significant firewood savings and a cleaner indoor atmosphere. Thermally tested by an internationally accredited laboratory.
Article 6 framework — an established bilateral framework provides the legal basis for the LOA.
BTR submission — Cambodia filed its last Biennial Transparency Report on time, meeting Paris Agreement obligations.
CORSIA Phase 1 — a Phase 1 signatory, enabling CORSIA-labelled credits from in-country projects.
Least Developed Country — LDC status aligns with high-integrity supply expectations across the market.
