Basis of assessment

A point-in-time snapshot of the offers live on the EOM order book when the data was taken on 1 September 2026 (i.e. an end-of-August snapshot). Figures are not a through-the-month average, and exclude orders that were posted and then withdrawn or archived during August. The only time-scoped section is §08 August activity, which reports orders modified between 1 and 31 August versus the full-book average.

EU tables ETS aviation revision — Commission concludes CORSIA "not strengthened", extends regional scope
On 17 July 2026 the European Commission tabled its EU ETS revision. It concluded CORSIA's integrity criteria "have not been met and CORSIA has not been strengthened", and proposed extending EU ETS scope to flights landing in countries within 5,000km of the EU from 2029 (with a 2032 reassessment), while stopping short of a full departing-flight expansion. ICAO, IATA and Airlines for America opposed the move. This is the single most important CORSIA-demand variable for the coming year and frames the EOM CP1 Labelled book.
EOM DATA Directly relevant to the 17 CP1 Labelled asks on EOM ($12.75–$20).
GreenAir News · Norton Rose Fulbright · National Law Review17 Jul 2026 (assessed Aug 2026)
CORSIA benchmark holds near $13 as physical clears above $12
Benchmark ICE CORSIA futures held just below $13/t in the week of 3–9 August and crept back towards $13/t over 10–16 August, with physical transactions clearing comfortably above $12/t. Carbon Pulse attributed the firmness to greater Phase 1 demand certainty following the EU ETS reform proposals, even as developers hold credits back waiting for higher prices.
EOM DATA EOM CP1 Labelled asks average $14.50 (w.avg $14.48) — pricing above the ICE CORSIA benchmark.
Rwanda authorises up to 1.8Mt from a Verra cookstove project for CORSIA / Article 6
Rwanda authorised up to 1.8 million carbon credits from a Verra-certified Improved Cookstove project, enabling international transfer under Article 6 and use as CORSIA-eligible units. Host-country Letters of Authorisation remain the binding supply constraint — ICAO reported only ten LoA-issuing countries as of April 2026.
EOM DATA Rwanda dominates EOM's CP1 Labelled book — VCS 3699, VCS 4150, GS 11135 and GS 11133 are all Rwandan cookstove/energy-demand orders at $13.15–$15.00.
CORSIA-eligible supply tops 40Mt as programme nears Phase 2
The supply of CORSIA-eligible credits passed 40 million tonnes in July 2026 as the programme prepares to enter Phase 2. Supply still trails demand sharply: analysts had flagged only ~32Mt available in Q1 2026 against ~146Mt of estimated demand.
EOM DATA EOM's 17 CP1 Labelled asks total 1.55Mt — a thin but real slice of immediately-available compliance-grade supply.
Microsoft cuts carbon-removal buying ~80% amid AI spend
Microsoft purchased ~8.55Mt of durable carbon removals through mid-July 2026 — roughly 80% less than the same period in 2025 — as capital shifts to AI data-centre expansion (its FY25 emissions rose 25%). Microsoft still accounts for nearly half of all CDR transactions in 2026, so the pullback carries outsized weight; a 650,000t BioCirc deal in May signals a more selective, not exited, stance.
EOM DATA EOM's engineered-CDR book is thin and high-priced (Biochar/Tech CDR spot $98–$155, avg $121) — exposed to the demand-side signal from the largest buyer.
ICVCM CCP label scales to ~108Mt across 38 methodologies
The Integrity Council's CCP label has scaled from 27Mt under 7 methodologies (June 2024) to roughly 108Mt under 38 methodologies and 9 eligible programmes by mid-2026. In August, Verra methodologies for methane reductions from rice cultivation and for landfill gas were approved under the Core Carbon Principles.
EOM DATA EOM shows 50 CCP-labelled orders; the 45 CCP spot asks average $7.30/t (w.avg $8.16) — a clear integrity premium over unlabelled REDD+ at $4.85.
REDD+ pricing bifurcates: high-integrity holds, legacy struggles
Nature-based pricing continued to split by quality. Brazilian Amazon REDD+ (Verra) traded around €12–15/t, with high-integrity, strong-co-benefit projects commanding €25+/t and high-integrity nature-based removals roughly €15–35/t, while legacy projects struggled to find buyers at any price.
EOM DATA Mirrored on EOM: 107 REDD+ spot asks span $0.10–$15.50 (avg $4.85) — one of the widest quality spreads in the book.
Developer signs $1M+ deal to supply CORSIA-eligible credits to an energy trader
A project developer signed a seven-figure agreement with a major energy-trading company to supply CORSIA-eligible credits, as buyers position ahead of the aviation scheme's first surrender deadline. Bilateral, off-market deals of this kind underline that compliance-grade supply is being locked up directly with counterparties.
EOM DATA Consistent with the single CP1 Labelled bid on EOM ($12.00, 50,000t) probing for compliance-grade supply.
SBTi Corporate Net-Zero Standard V2 introduces interim removal targets
SBTi's Corporate Net-Zero Standard V2 — mandatory from January 2028 — introduces "ongoing emissions responsibility" and interim removal targets scaling from roughly 0.5–2.8% of emissions in 2030 to ~10% by 2050. It is the largest latent demand catalyst for high-integrity credits, affecting thousands of SBTi-committed companies.
EOM DATA Structural demand tailwind for the CCP-labelled and removals supply visible on EOM.
Corporate procurement continues: UK operator seeks 24,000t nature + engineered removals
A UK mobile network operator opened a four-year procurement for 24,000t of removals across nature-based and engineered projects — a representative example of the steady, quality-led corporate demand building beneath the headline hyperscaler pullback.

CORSIA Phase 1 — CP1 Labelled Orders Only
Tag = "CP1 Labelled" · 17 asks · 1 bid · USD
Scope & context

This section uses only orders whose eligibility tags contain the exact "CP1 Labelled" label. Orders tagged "CORSIA" (eligible), "CP1 Eligible", "CP1 Aligned" or "Article 6.2" are excluded — including the cheap solar/wind supply those tags pull in. This is the practical depth of immediately-available, compliance-grade CORSIA supply visible on EOM. These are the CP1 offers live on the book as of 1 Sep 2026 (an end-August snapshot) — not every order posted during the month.

CP1 Labelled — Order Book Insights
  • 17 CP1 Labelled asks, 1.55Mt — a thin but real slice of compliance-grade supply, consistent with CORSIA-eligible issuance only recently passing ~40Mt globally (Carbon Pulse).
  • Rwanda dominates the labelled book — VCS 3699, VCS 4150, GS 11135 and GS 11133 are Rwandan cookstove / energy-demand orders at $13.15–$15.00, directly relevant to Rwanda's August authorisation of up to 1.8Mt for Article 6 / CORSIA transfer (Carbon Pulse).
  • Uzbekistan VCS 4531 (N2O) is the single largest labelled volume at 600,000t across two asks ($14.50–$15.00).
  • Forward CP1 supply has appeared — 4 CP1 Labelled forward asks are now visible (all portfolio/general), a change from the all-spot book earlier in the year.

EU ETS regional scope extension (if adopted) Under the 17 Jul 2026 proposal, EU ETS would extend to flights landing in countries within 5,000km of the EU from 2029, with a CORSIA reassessment in 2032 that could revert or further expand scope — a swing factor for CORSIA-eligible demand.GreenAir News

EOM Editorial Commentary — inference, not data-backed findings
  • Editorial: the gap between EOM CP1 Labelled asks (avg $14.50) and the ICE CORSIA benchmark (~$13) is small; if EU ETS reform firms Phase 1 demand as Carbon Pulse suggests, EOM sellers pricing at $12.75–$15 for spot compliance-grade supply may be inside forward compliance-cost projections. This is EOM commentary/inference, not a data-backed finding.
  • Editorial: Rwanda's LoA momentum is a supply-positive signal for the Rwanda-heavy CP1 book, but authorisation volume does not equal issued, transferable inventory — treat as directional, not a change in available supply.
